Ricky Martin’s filming a guest role on Glee, and he posed with the cast on the first day of shooting. Old pal Lea Michele was particularly excited, tweeting “I’ve known Ricky since I’m 8 years old! He was in Les Mis on Broadway with me in 1996! Crazy huh?!”

Martin is also on the cover of Latina, which asked him about his relationship with his fans after coming out. He said: “They feel more in touch with me and I feel more in touch with them. If I feel free, they’re going to feel free and vice versa. It’s contagious.”

They also asked him if he plans to legally marry his spouse, Carlos Gonzalez Abella: “We are not talking about it, we’re not thinking about it. But I’m so happy that in Europe we have the option. It’s amazing to think that we can say, ‘I feel like it. I’m ready. Let’s go.’”

Daniel Radcliffe is interviewed in Parade, where he talks about falling in love with his girlfriend Rosie Coker. Radcliffe and Coker met while filming the last Harry Potter film, on which she was a production assistant. And is he in love?

Yes, absolutely. When Rosie’s here, every day seems better….I’m not an easy person to love. There are lots of times when I’m a very good boyfriend, but there are times when I’m useless. I mean, I’m a mess around the house. I talk nonstop. I become obsessed with things. This year it’s fantasy football, which means Rosie has to listen to me talking 24 hours a day about this team. ‘Should I take this player out, do you think, darling?’ And she listens to it, and she loves me for my oddness, my awkwardness, all of those things that I hate about myself. She finds them cute. I guess that’s love.

Supports of the bill say it’s nothing like the headline for this post. They say “their goal is to make sure whatever policies are implemented will keep in mind a student’s freedom of expression and protect the student from being punished merely for expressing their views so long as they aren’t threatening harm or damaging property.”

Not quite. Tennessee LGBT groups “say it will create an dangerous exemption that allows those who condemn homosexuality to openly harass gay students strictly because of their religious views without  punishment – so long as they don’t actually harm them.” And in case you’re on the fence, consider that the “Family Action Council of Tennessee (FACT) announced it would be one of their highest priorities for the year.”

CNN says that FACT’s leader was quoted in a Tennessee paper as saying “[Homosexuals are] ‘not the only people who get insulted… The thing we need to concentrate on is not whether the characteristics of the victim justify being protected, but on the conduct of the person engaging in the bullying, while respecting constitutional rights.”

Chaz Bono, who separated from his fiancee in December, is ready to date again. He tells People that he’s ready to get out there, and his newly honed dancing skills should help. “What a great skill: to be able to take a woman dancing … and actually know what you’re doing!”

Nancy Pelosi personally intervened to win a two-year say against deportation for Bradford Wells and Anthony John Makk. The married gay couple, together for 19 years live in San Francisco’s Castro district. In addition to being the House Democratic Leader, Pelosi is also the couple’s US Representative.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that:

Makk is a citizen of Australia married to Wells, a U.S. citizen who suffers from AIDS-related illnesses. Makk is his primary caregiver. The couple was denied consideration of spousal immigration benefits by the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act, known as DOMA, which bars all federal benefits to same-sex couples.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services issued a letter to Makk today saying he has been granted “deferred action” on his case for two years. The letter said the action is “an exercise of prosecutorial discretion” that allows the agency not to pursue deportation for a specific period. Makk met multiple conditions of the agency’s new guidelines for immigration agents to prioritize deportation cases, including family ties, status as a primary caregiver, lack of criminal record and his long period of legal residence under a series of visas that eventually expired.

The Chronicle says that Pelosi “broke the news to the couple herself today.” She also issued a statement calling the stay-of-deportation a “a personal victory for Bradford and Anthony” and said she would continue to fight for the repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).

It’s gossip involving two hotties! Glee’s Darren Criss and Daniel Radcliffe. The New York Times discusses Darren Criss’s performance in Radcliffe’s role in “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.” And the director says Criss is “almost too good” in the role.

Criss says “I always shoot for the moon in my work, so that I’m happy when I land on the roof. I’m very specific and ambitious in plotting out my goals and never take no for an answer — so it’s not like things just fall in my lap.”

Simon Doonan, former Barney’s creative director (and spouse of the very talented Jonathan Adler), has a new book out in which has says Gay Men Don’t Get Fat. He tells the New York Times: ”Gay chips are baked. Straight chips are deep-fried. It’s that simple.”

The premise of the book? The Times says is “that the vast range of the world’s culinary options can be boiled down to two core categories: gay food and straight food. Seeking out a balanced diet of both is the savviest way to stay svelte. Think of it, if you must, as bisexual eating.”

Some quick tips? Guacamole, Mexican food and English food are straight. Sushi and macarons are gay. Oh, and “organic olive oil, thick porridge, heaping helpings of wheat germ” are lesbian.

Openly gay Glee hottie Jonathan Groff, known for his portrayal of Jesses St. James bared it all in a brief scene in the film Twelve Thirty. The film had a short stint in theaters last January and was released on DVD in December. That said, the blogosphere didn’t pick up on the scene until November.

Groff’s reaction to all the buzz? He told New York Mag that ”I did that movie a couple years ago. I really loved doing that movie, and Jeff Lipsky, our director, had done this thing, Flannel Pajamas, which had some nudity in it as well, and the thing about the nudity in that movie that he was trying to capture in our movie was the reality of it, and not trying to hide it or cut away when people would normally be naked, so, I don’t know, it’s just a movie I did! I don’t think about how it’ll end up on the Internet. I just do my work and whatever happens, happens.”

Daniel Nardicio, a spokesman for Playgirl, confirmed Monday that the baby daddy of Sarah Palin’s only grandson left something to the imagination in his photo shoot last week.

“He did not give ‘full frontal’ as his manager Tank (Jones) reported he would,” Nardicio told the Daily News.

“We’re thrilled with the photos we got, and are confident people will love them, but although there may be glimpses, we did not get full on frontal nudity,” Nardicio said.

Before getting to the details about this hate group, I should note that the Examiner’s article has a pejorative tone when referring the LGBT people and equal rights. Take this for example: “With the passage of Washington State’s ‘Everything But Marriage’ and other similar actions across America favouring homosexuals…” “Homosexuals?”  Is this 1970? Is the Examiner really implying equal rights are “special rights” by saying “favouring”?  The article says these haters are “claim to be speaking for the conservative underdogs…the only thing left out was the threat that if you did not act within twenty four hours something very horrible would happen to a loved one.” Since when are conservatives underdogs in Utah?

The Examiner goes on: “But there is a darker, less Christian side to ‘America First’. Not the least of which is the renaming of homosexuals as ‘anti-species’ (dubbed so due to the claim that homosexuals do not continue the human species) continuing that they are depraved and threatening the sanctity of American children and families with their liberal agenda.” Uhm, the stuff above wasn’t dark? It was Christian?

In the end, though, the author comes around to recognizing the group for the haters they are: “The more I read the ad and later their web site, the clearer it became that this group just needs to repent and reevaluate their agenda….Additionally, the mere mention that the homosexuals could somehow control the Mormon church to any end is laughable…What is equally amazing is that with the bad grammar, and poorly structured arguments.”

“America First” is reprehensible.  But the Examiner’s article isn’t great either.

Now, if this the guy who managed to completely mangle English in this article things the group’s website is full of “bad grammer,” well, it must be pretty damn bad.

Sadly, the “gay panic” defense still is used by murders and defense attorneys as a “get of of jail free” card.  I hope the jury in the presumptive trial recognizes hate is hate, and murder is murder, period.

On her Sirius Satellite radio show, O’Donnell suddenly admitted Carpenter had moved out of their home two years ago. The reason for the big reveal? A pressing psychic and a long-haired Chihuahua.

“Where did you get her from Rosie? Because she says she came from somewhere. And she said she’s happier with you,” pet psychic Sonya Fitzpatrick said of O’Donnell’s dog Misty. “She’s so spoiled and she loves to burrow.”

And, when asked who “sometimes looks after her,” O’Donnell explained her four children all fight over caring for the pup, which she got three days after Carpenter left. “What happened [was] when Kelli moved out two years ago, I got the dog. Because I wanted another child or something to love. And I got the dog.”

Carcieri cold and uncaring response? “This bill represents a disturbing trend over the past few years of the incremental erosion of the principles surrounding traditional marriage, which is not the preferred way to approach this issue.”

Carcieri was very rightfully slammed on this. Now he says he may be open to some form of domestic partnership.  Says the AP: “after a closed-door meeting with a gay rights group, Carcieri told reporters Thursday he would consider creating a domestic partnership system similar to one approved this month by voters in Washington state. That Washington plan will allow same-sex couples benefits such as the right to use sick leave to care for a domestic partner and rights related to adoption, child custody and child support.”

My take on it? He’s doing everything possible to deny LGBT basic equality (the veto), and then providing sound bites that make him sound like a compassionate Republican.  Fail.

This seems like flimsy evidence, but, hey we’re here to bring you all the gossip about gay animated characters.

Yup, they now think God hates Jews, too. USA Today reports protests with messages like: “Margie Phelps balanced several signs targeting Jews, Israel and the Obama administration. One read ‘Rabbis Rape Kids,’ another said ‘God Hates Jews.’ Margie Phelps’ T-shirt read ‘Jews Killed Jesus.’ She argued with men and women passing by, warning them that God will soon send the Jews to hell.”

So just how do they explain this?

According to Margie Phelps: “We’ve protested this nation’s love of fags for 20 years,” she said. “And Jews have been carrying the water for the homosexual agenda.”

I guess this means I’m their worst fear: a Gay Jew.

So this ultimatum adds up to: give gays and lesbians equal rights, and we’ll punish the homeless.  Really?

I’ve had a lot of fun with women, and I’m not ashamed of it. The problem is that I also love a well-endowed man. Just because I enjoy women doesn’t mean I’m allowed to have affairs in my relationship… I learned through talking with my therapist that it is still cheating even if it’s with girls, so there is a rule there.”
